Judith has created a new photoacoustic and fluorescence imaging contrast agent that is sensitive to hydrogen peroxide levels in tumour tissue. This new contrast agent could help us to understand the role of oxidative stress in cancer, by providing a non-invasive visualisation of the level of an abundant reactive oxygen species in the tissue.
