I investigate the use of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) cameras to aid the detection and diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers. Since these cameras can sample the color spectra more finely than traditional RGB-cameras, they give us the ability to see the color changes that occur as healthy tissue turn cancerous. The focus of my work is these cameras’ ability to simultaneously detect multiple fluorescent contrast agents allowing us to increase the sensitivity and specificity of cancer diagnosis.
